How many days until Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday is the Monday after Thanksgiving and closes the big shopping weekend. It was named in 2005 for online deals, and today it is one of the biggest online shopping days of the year.
Thanksgiving weekend 2026
- Thanksgiving: Thursday, November 26.
- Black Friday: Friday, November 27.
- Small Business Saturday: Saturday, November 28: started by American Express in 2010 to support local shops.
- Cyber Monday: Monday, November 30.
- Giving Tuesday: Tuesday, December 1: a day for donating to charities, started in 2012.
Where Cyber Monday comes from
The name was coined in 2005 by Shop.org, the online retail group of the National Retail Federation. They noticed that on the Monday after Thanksgiving, back at work, lots of people shopped from their office computers, which back then had much faster internet than home.
Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
Today the difference has mostly disappeared: deals are online on both days and often run all the way from Black Friday to Monday. Cyber Monday is the last call: if something you were waiting for has not dropped in price by the end of the day, the next chance is usually after Christmas.
